Tropical Smoothie

Perfect for summer, this smoothie is sweet, tart, and refreshing!

Equipment

  • 1 blender
  • 1 chopping knife
  • 1 microwave-safe bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole banana
  • 1 whole green apple
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1/4 cup beets
  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup water or juice of your choice
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions
 

  • Remove leaves and stems from the beets and scrub them clean
  • Place beets into a microwave safe bowl with 1/3 cup water and microwave on high for about 5 minutes
  • Once cooked, place beets immediately into an ice bath to stop cooking cool completely. Save about 1/2 cup ice for blending
  • Slice the banana and pineapple into 1-inch pieces
  • Dice the green apple into small pieces
  • Add all ingredients to the blender and pulse until completely smooth
  • Pour into a smoothie cup and enjoy!
